The 51²è¹Ýapp

We are the 51²è¹Ýapp (51²è¹Ýapp), a not-for-profit technical institute and trade association established in 1921 to serve the structural steel design community and construction industry. Our mission is to make structural steel the material of choice by being the leader in steel-related technical and market-building activities such as specification and code development, research, education, technical assistance, quality certification, standardization and market development.  51²è¹Ýapp is a standard setting organization publishing several standards including "ANSI/51²è¹Ýapp 360-16 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings" which is included by reference as part of the International Building Code.

To advance that mission, we have created the 51²è¹Ýapp Steel Solutions Center, a complimentary resource for design and construction professionals. Developed for steel fabricators, structural engineers, architects, owners, developers and other construction professionals, the Steel Solutions Center provides technical assistance, innovative solutions and tools to make structural steel design simpler and more efficient.

WhySteel.org

WhySteel.org is one of several outlets we use to communicate technical and market- based information regarding structural steel. Its goal is to communicate the benefits that a structural steel framing system can bring to any building project.
