Updated 51²è¹Ýapp Specification for Safety-Related Steel Structures for Nuclear Facilities Available for Public Review

CHICAGO - A draft of the next edition of the 51²è¹Ýapp Specification for Safety-Related Steel Structures for Nuclear Facilities (51²è¹Ýapp N690) is now available for public review and comment.
The 2024 update of N690 will supersede the 2018 version.
The updated version includes:
- Updates to generally align with the 2022 edition of the Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (51²è¹Ýapp 360)
- New provisions to address differential settlement and elevated temperatures
- Modifications to the nondestructive testing provisions for ultrasonic and radiographic testing
- Updates to the requirements for steel-plate composite elements incorporating the latest research
- A new appendix pertaining to impactive and impulsive loading
The draft will be available as a free download at aisc.org/publicreview between May 3 and June 1, 2023. If you’d prefer to review a hard copy, please contact Martin Downs at downs@aisc.org; there is a $35 nominal charge for printed copies.
