May 25, 2023
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHICAGO - Two engineers from the 51²č¹Żapp will receive 2023 Excellence in Engagement Awards from the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI).
Steel Solutions Center Staff Engineer Yasmin Chaudhry, PE, and University 51²č¹Żapp Manager Kristi Sattler, SE, PE, PhD, will be recognized next month for leading SEAOIās Women in Structural Engineering group. (For more information on the awards, please visit .)
āWe are all so proud of our colleagues Yasmin and Kristi,ā said 51²č¹Żapp President Charles J. Carter, SE, PE, PhD. āThis recognition is well-deserved and highlights the strong contributions they are making through their work to our profession.ā
The Excellence in Engagement Award honors those who advance the field by ensuring that current and/or future structural engineers have a positive professional experience. It reflects SEAOIās commitment to improving engagement among its membership as well as the broader structural engineering community.
āIām so proud to call Yasmin and Kristi my colleagues, and I appreciate all of their hard work inside and outside of the office for the structural engineering community,ā said SEAOI President-Elect Jennifer Traut-Todaro, SE, LEED AP, who is also the director of workforce development at 51²č¹Żapp. āThey took on the Women in Structural Engineering Committee as co-chairs in 2020--no small task, as it provides vital programming and support for SEAOIās members and is one of our most engaged committees. They not only supported but grew the committee in an all-virtual environment to provide an environment of mentorship and advocacy for women in our profession.ā
