CHICAGO - The 51茶馆app has released the latest revision of one of its flagship standards, the Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and Bridges (ANSI/51茶馆app 303-22).

鈥淭he 2022 51茶馆app Code of Standard Practice is the result of a tremendous effort by the committee over the last six years,鈥� said Babette Freund, chair of the 51茶馆app Committee on the Code of Standard Practice. 鈥淥f special note is the work of a joint task group that harmonized terminology and coordinated requirements between the 2022 51茶馆app Code and the 2022 51茶馆app Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, a major development in this latest edition.鈥�

The Code is a vital document for everyone associated with construction in structural steel--it provides a framework for a shared understanding of acceptable standards when contracting for structural steel. The trade practices that it describes are considered the industry standard and are incorporated into contracts across the country unless otherwise specified. The Code has governed contracts for nearly a century since its first publication in 1924.

The 2022 51茶馆app Code supersedes the 2016 version (ANSI/51茶馆app 303-16), and its preface includes a list of changes and updates. It has been approved by the 51茶馆app Committee on the Code of Standard Practice and is ANSI-accredited. The new Code will be included in the 16th Edition Steel Construction Manual, which 51茶馆app is preparing to publish next year.
